We’ll start out our private RiNo art tour at the popular Denver Central Market, the first of many renovated industrial buildings of River North’s past. Your local tour guide will take you inside to introduce you to the eclectic array of vendors in this 1920s souvenir shop turned modern-day food hall. Whether you’re in the mood for decadent sweets, savory sandwiches, or just an excellent coffee, there’s something for everyone here to enjoy!
Once outside, we’ll then start our walking tour that will explore the revitalization of this increasingly popular neighborhood, much of which has been spurred by – what else? – art! You’ll get an appreciation for the neighborhood’s transformation from a railroad depot to a haven for artists of all backgrounds. We’ll let you in on the progression from illegal street tagging and graffiti to the massive murals that now give some much-needed color and character to factory buildings and new storefronts alike.
Your tour guide will take you down alleyways and off the beaten track to experience often-missed artworks, including those that represent backgrounds ranging from black to LGBTQ to Native American artists and more. You’ll get to hear stories of inspiration behind the art and all about the people who are dedicated to making way for new artists and fresh perspectives!
As you take in the best of Denver Street art, you’ll even be treated to a snack at one of our favorite local businesses, from a frozen treat in the summertime to a hot beverage in the winter. As you enjoy your local treat, you’ll feel even better knowing that a portion of our Denver art tour proceeds goes to an organization dedicated to improving people’s lives and promoting more public art.
As we wind down the tour and as your camera roll fills up with photos, your local tour guide will provide recommendations on other areas to continue exploring Denver murals, restaurants, bars, and more!
With a built-in donation included in your tour ticket, you’re contributing to established and new artists, allowing them to continue their art and receive a fair share in return.
Our guides are able to share the perspectives of black, LGBTQ, Native American, and female artists, who have traditionally had poor representation in the street art scene.
